About
Born in Arcachon, the south of France, Bimantara Lestarijono now calls Surabaya, Indonesia, his home. His artistic journey began in childhood. The cartoons he saw on the television and the comics he read then serves as huge inspiration until now. Bima then graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design.
Bima’s art dazzles with vintage comic allure and low brow art. His work shifts fluidly from hand-drawn sketches to digital magic, featuring characters with oversized traits and densely layered details, all marked by his signature strokes.
“I hope my work brings sparks to my audience. I have been inspired by great Cartoonist such as Franquin, Janry and Jack Davis. I adore their drawing style and sense of humor, it can be funny, spooky or scary sometimes.”
