Born in Arcachon, the south of France, Bimantara Lestarijono now calls Surabaya, Indonesia, his home. His artistic journey began in childhood. The cartoons he saw on the television and the comics he read then serves as huge inspiration until now. Bima then graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design.
Bima’s art dazzles with vivid hues, tropical vibes, vintage comic allure, and a splash of psychedelia. His work shifts fluidly from hand-drawn sketches to digital magic, featuring characters with oversized traits and densely layered details, all marked by his signature bold strokes.
“I hope my work brings joy and sparks to my audience. I have been inspired by great European comic artists such as Franquin, Herge, Janry. I adore their drawing style and sense of humor, it can be funny, spooky or scary sometimes.”
